Johnny Depp made a surprise appearance at San Diego’s comic con on the same panel as he ex wife Amber Heard – and fans are not happy. Warner Bros were proudly showcasing their upcoming film slate, which happened to include both Amber’s Aquaman and Johnny’s Fantastic Beats. But despite the couples history, and Amber’s domestic abuse allegations towards the actor, the pair appeared on the same stage hours within each other.
At the start of the Grindelwald it appeared that Depp hadn’t been invited to the event, as he didn’t arrive with the other stars, and neither of the cast discussed him. However part way through the discussion, the 55-year-old strolled on stage dressed as his character Gellert Grindelwald to deliever what was described as a ‘creepy monologue’.
Without even talking to his fellow co-stars he then left the stage as quickly as he’d appeared. However, despite his best efforts, fans were outraged at his appearance and were quick to question how he was allowed to be on the same panel as Amber. Taking to Twitter one wrote: ‘they invited johnny depp as a surprise guest for comic con?????? the same comic con amber had been confirmed to attend for months??????? and his panel was right before hers?????? what the actual fuck (sic)’ Another added:
‘i wish i could say i c a n n o t believe someone would allow johnny depp to be at sdcc when amber heard rightfully is there, but i’m really not surprised at this point. this is ABSOLUTELY one of the shittiest things you could ever do to a person. repulsive. amber, i love you. (Sic)’
